Is there anything better than a spa day?
To unwind, relax and feel pampered. Whether you go by yourself, with a partner, a parent, a sibling or a friend – it’s a chance have a massage after a stressful time a work, a manicure before your wedding or to simply have some one on one time with your loved ones. I personally believe a spa day is good for the soul and should be done, as often as you can.
So when I was kindly invited to the Temple Spa Product Launch Event at the Connaught Hotel in Bournemouth, I jumped at the chance to go along.
The Connaught Hotel have fantastic facilities at their Blue Water Spa and now with their partnership with Temple Spa, I truly believe this is one of the best spa’s on the South Coast.
The event was organised by Sunny Bird PR, who put on a really great event. I’d not been to the Connaught Hotel before but had heard great things from colleagues at work, as soon as I walked through the hotel doors I was warmly welcomed by the Sunny Bird PR staff and asked if I’d like to enter a prize draw to win a spa day for two at the Blue Water Spa. As I made way into the function room, I could see why this hotel has such a great reputation, it was a great space, large and open with great decor.
I was kindly offered a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival, a live band played music throughout the course of the evening and hotel staff carried, what seem to be endless plates of savory and sweet canapes through the room – which were delicious. It’s safe to say I was well looked after.
One side of the room was full of Temple Spa products, there were a couple of display tables and a huge unit against the wall full of products and testers, everything from body radiance cream to eye lotion, even aromatic candles. The staff members there were great, they were very knowledgeable about the each products, the benefits of them and what products would be best for my skin type. The products can be purchased at Harrods or at Temple Spa’s across the country, from Cornwall to North Yorkshire, and the products are reasonably priced for the quality.
All of the attendees were kindly offered a complimentary mini hand massage from two of the lovely spa therapists, a taster of the treatments and Temple Spa products, which was a brilliant little treat, I felt truly pampered – my hands smelt incredible and felt silky smooth for the remainder of the night.
The hotel staff were offering tours of the spa, which is on the bottom level of the hotel, separetaed from the hustle and bustle. As you walk down the spiral staircase, the atmosphere changes from the fun buzz of upstairs, to a calm serene ambiance, with flowers, candles and diffuses in every corner. As soon as you reach the spa level you can see through into the swimming pool, it’s a good sized pool with Jacuzzi in the corner. Following the corridor through the spa and it’s like you’ve reached spa Narnia, there’s doors everywhere you look, leading into single or double treatment rooms, as well as a gym.
The treatment rooms are well laid out and well decorated, each room has an array of Temple Spa products. There’s even a relaxation room, the perfect place to be after a treatment, with low lit lights and candles you can truly unwind and leave all your troubles behind, and the room smells incredible! I wish I could bottle up the smell and take it home!
After heading back upstairs to find out more about the Temple Spa products, mingle with other bloggers and check out the Blue Water Spa brochure, it was time to head home. To top off a wonderful evening, I was gifted a goody bag, full of Temple Spa samples to take home and use and I can confirm – they smell great and make my skin feel smooth for hours.
I’d like to once again thank the Connaught Hotel, Temple Spa and Sunny Bird PR for the invite and for putting on a brilliant event. It was a real pleasure to take a look around the spa and find out about the products. I would really recommend this hotel and spa and look forward to visiting in future.
