A day at SEALIFE Weymouth

I recently had a lovely Monday – Friday break away, staying at Haven’s Seaview Holiday Park in Weymouth.

When check out came on the Friday morning, I knew I wasn’t ready to leave Weymouth just yet. My fiancée and I decided to take a trip to the SEALIFE centre, it was only a 10 minute drive away from the park and there’s nothing better than a day out at the zoo or aquarium.

I used a 2 for 1 entry ticket which I took off a cereal box, splitting the cost of the entry, which meant it was only £10 each for a great day out.

I’d never been to this particular SEALIFE, but I would defiantly return. The park was great, it was big enough that it took us a good couple of hours to get round, but equally not too big that there was plenty of time in the day to stop and watch the animal talks/feedings. I especially enjoyed the otter and seal talks. As I went out of the school holidays it was a fairly quiet day, to top it off it was a gorgeous day, the sun was blazing hot. When lunchtime came, we decided to grab a sausage roll and sit out in the sun, watching the seals and otters playing about in their enclosures.

With a huge variety of animals, from penguins to seahorses, sea turtles to otters there is something for everyone. Many of the animals had been rescued or are classed as an endangered species, it’s heartbreaking to see how some of these animals may not be around too much longer, but with places like SEALIFE, hopefully it won’t come to that.

Whether you go along as a family, on a school trip, as a couple or just with some mates. A great play park for the kiddies at Caribbean Cove, plenty of food and drink stops and some really interesting, educational information throughout the centre.

I had the a most fantastic day at SEALIFE Weymouth and I’d would recommend this as a top day out in Dorset. I have hopes to return soon and get involved with the special VIP experience, Breakfast with the seals.

Until then, thanks for reading.
